So, if I've counted correctly (94 viewed), then I have no life.  Of course, it doesn't take into consideration the span of years over which these have been viewed, but that's ok.  I could have told you that I have, at times, had no life.

As you can see, I have been culturally enriched because of it.

No Sweat, Just a Fever

I got As on my Bio homework, Bio quiz and Statistics test, and I did it with a nasty cold.

I'm going to curl into a ball and die now.

After I watch Heroes.

Random Nothingness

Well, here I am again.  I probably should be at work, or studying for my Statistics test (to be taken online over the course of the next couple of days) or my Bio quiz, or my Bio homework.  I'll get to all that.  I have a lunch date with my mother and brother in 2 hours, but perhaps I'll go to work for a short bit before that.  I only have to put in 2.5 hours today, though it would be better if I put in more.  I'm still on the lazier side at the moment however, and have those pesky school things to take care of.  Like studying.  Ah well.  Some of you may remember that ancient commercial featuring Orson Wells, "I'll have no wine before its time."  Of course, I'm not planning on drinking wine, period.  But the underlying meaning is the same.  I'll do it when the time is right.  Roughly translated: I'll get to it when I get to it.

As I said: lazy.

I have a Pampered Chef party to attend tonight, thrown by a girlfriend- K -  from school.  She's the one I had 3 classes with last semester, and also 2 classes this semester.  To be unnecessarily technical, we had a class together 2 semesters ago as well, but I digress.  We've grown to be good friends, and it's a chance to get to know each other better outside of school.  She doesn't expect me to buy anything; it'll just be fun to hang out.  It would make more sense, really, for Randy to attend; he's the cook in the house.  But this is a girls' night, so he probably wouldn't fit in.  Unless there's something about my husband that I don't know about.  Seems unlikely, though.

That will be my excitement for the weekend.  Oh, and that pine tree in the back yard is supposedly coming down at last; the weather and a busy tree man kept it from happening over the summer.  As long as it doesn't come down on my house, or even my neighbor's (being the magnanimous soul that I am), it'll be fine.

Some cool things: I found and purchased a copy of Sliding Doors, something I've wanted for awhile now but never got around to buying.  Also, an elderly gentleman who used to visit with me when I worked at the gas station just stopped by.  He kept telling me about the old Hitchcock movie, Spellbound.  It hasn't been available in the U.S. for some 40 years ( can't remember why now other than it was out of print), but this gentleman has a friend in Seattle who obtained a copy from someone in China.  This friend passed the copy along to my friend, who just gave it to me.  No worries- it's in English.  He knows that I like Hitchcock, and felt strongly (obviously) that I should see this movie.   The only down note is that when he stopped by, my hair was soaking wet from my recent shower, I had no makeup on and I'm wearing a tatty old sweatshirt with bleach stains, and the shorts with the slash on the thigh from when I, well, slashed my thigh.  Poor man.  This isn't how he's used to seeing me.  I think he survived the shock though.  If he didn't, he had the grace to collapse somewhere other than in front of my house.

I guess that's it from the wonderfully un-fascinating life of Aravis.

As you were.

Big News Day

Randy turned the tv on at noon, and the news was just coming on.

Big Story

filled the screen as the program began.  Given that it was local news, I didn't expect a global crisis.  A fire?  A bank robbery?  An accident?  These might warrant the title Big Story, so I stopped what I was doing for a moment to find out what was going on.

You know what the Big Story was?

A police officer was arraigned on charges that he stole a garden hose from the department.

It wasn't even a Big department; it was a small town.

Maybe tomorrow's leading story will be...

Epidemic Feared After Mayor Blows Nose!

Stealing My Heart?

I've been watching It Takes a Thief on Discovery Channel for some time now; Randy and I really enjoy it.  The premise is that two former thieves who have turned their lives around now find homes or businesses whose security is sadly lacking.  They get the homeowners' permission to rob the place within 2 weeks.  The producers outfit the house and property with cameras to catch everything when it goes down.  Jon cases the place until he's ready to break in.  Matt observes from a van, where the footage from the cameras inside the house is being recorded.  After the robbery, Matt meets with the homeowners when they discover what's happened.  They watch the footage together, then meet Jon as he returns their stuff.  Once their vulnerability has been hammered home, a security guard is posted overnight, and then Matt comes back the next day and has state-of-the-art security measures tailor-made for the homeowners' needs installed at no cost.  Finally, Jon and Matt come back once more within a couple of weeks after the place is secured, and Jon tries to get in again, to see if the owners are actually using the security measures put in place for them.

It's a great show, but it has engendered some interesting dreams and a little paranoia.  It's about what you'd expect: people breaking into my house, often Jon and Matt themselves.  Nothing original.

Except for last night.

I dreamt that Matt was my prom date.

He spiffed up nicely, was a lot of fun and we had a great time.

Go figure.

Where I've Been, Where I'm Going

The next day, after the Slumber Party party, I had to go to a party being thrown by my SIL's future in-laws.  It was a combination engagement party, birthday party (for the father), college graduation for their 2nd son, and high school graduation for their third; Regina's marrying their oldest boy.

Busy day for them.

It was fun at first, especially after the party the night before, a party which was to be kept secret from Regina's family.  It was one of those "I know something you don't know" times, enjoyable in a juvenile sort of way.  But after awhile, I started to feel sick- a stomach/GI thing this time- and couldn't wait to get home.  I was sick the rest of the weekend, and am still not quite up to snuff yet.  I'm rapidly getting better, though, so no worries.  I still went to work for a few hours.

Now I just want to curl up here on the couch, read (The Expected One) and veg until the season openers of The Closer and Saving Grace tonight.  Finally something to look forward to on t.v. again!

Resident Murder She Wrote Evil?

Tonight, I went from watching Resident Evil to Murder She Wrote

While they had death in common, it was an odd mix.

To Watch, or Not to Watch

The problem with watching shows like Trading Spaces is that then I want to work on the house.

The problem with watching the Food Network is that then I want to cook large, fancy meals (and eat them, of course).

The problem with not watching t.v. is that then I might have to get off my butt and actually do some of these things.
